Semi-automatic espresso machine by Philips, model Barista Brew PSA3228/01. It grinds the beans fresh with a built-in 15-setting grinder and a 280 g bean container, and brewing takes place in a metal portafilter that is dosed and tamped by hand with the calibrated tamper supplied. Water temperature is regulated by a PID system and the pump works at 15 bar; there are four pre-set drinks (single and double espresso, americano and hot water) and a steam wand to froth milk in the 450 ml jug that comes with the machine. 2.3 l water tank, 1350 W and a metal body.
When choosing a portafilter espresso machine, look at whether it has a built-in grinder and how many grind settings it offers, how the brewing temperature is controlled, the pump pressure, the capacity of the water tank and bean container, and the milk system. The machine needs a 220-240 V socket, free space above it to refill the tank and the bean container, and soft or filtered water to space out descaling.
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
