The Shark BreatheClear HP162UK is a floor-standing air purifier in Dove with NeverChange6 filtration, which the maker says needs no filter change for up to 6 years under the use set out in its test. It covers rooms of up to 70 m² at one air change per hour, or 14 m² at 4.8 air changes (AHAM AC-1-2020 method). Its sensors sample the air 3,600 times per hour and adjust power when movement or a rise in particles is detected; the display shows PM1, PM2.5, PM10 and VOC levels in real time and dims in low light. It can run in automatic mode, at manual fan speeds or on the night routine. A washable Debris Defence pre-filter holds back coarse dirt ahead of the main filter. It draws 25 W and weighs 3.77 kg.
When choosing an air purifier, compare the clean air delivery rate (CADR) with the size of the room, the type of filters and how much and how often they cost to replace, the noise level at the speed you will use at night and, if fitted, the air-quality sensor with an auto mode. Place it on the floor or on stable furniture with free space around the air inlets and outlets, and replace the filters as the manufacturer or the unit itself indicates.
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
