The Shark PowerDetect Luxe UV Reveal is the Luxe-finish version, in Deep Harbour, of the 2-in-1 robot from the RV3000 series. It vacuums and mops in a single pass and uses ultraviolet light with RGB sensors to find dried-on or sticky stains that are hard to see, treating them with HyperSonic mopping and its scrubbing pattern. Eight PowerDetect functions adapt cleaning to dirt levels, floor type, edges and objects in the way, and the mop pad is picked up automatically when it is not needed. The ThermaCharged NeverTouch Pro base empties debris into a bagless bin holding around 60 days of dust, refills the robot’s water tank and washes the pad with 85 °C water before drying it with 80 °C air. The battery provides up to 180 minutes of run time and recharges in about four hours.
When choosing a robot vacuum, compare the navigation and mapping system, the suction power, the battery runtime against the size of the home, the type of brushes (rubber brushes tangle less with hair) and, if it mops, how the mop is wetted and cleaned. The charging dock needs a socket and free space at the sides and in front; self-emptying docks use bags or bins that need emptying or replacing, and mop-washing docks have clean and dirty water tanks that are refilled and emptied by hand.
