The Meaco DD8L Junior is a small desiccant dehumidifier designed for damp, condensation and drying clothes indoors. Because it does not rely on a compressor, it carries on extracting moisture in unheated rooms, porches, garages, caravans and boats where compressor units struggle, and its light 6.4 kg body is easy to carry from room to room.
Key features
- Desiccant drying — extracts up to 7.5 litres a day at 20°C and 60% RH and keeps working down to 1°C.
- Three fan speeds — choose a whisper-quiet 39 dB(A) setting for night or a faster speed for a damp spell.
- Laundry mode — boosts airflow and output to dry washing indoors more quickly.
- Adjustable humidistat — holds humidity between 40% and 60% RH and cycles to save energy.
- Off timer and auto restart — set 1–8 hours; the unit picks up where it left off after a power cut.
- Washable dust filter — rinse it clean to keep airflow strong.

Good to know
Desiccant models draw more power than compressor models, up to 650 W on the higher fan speed, but their output does not fall away in the cold. A 2 L internal tank has a splash-proof cover, and continuous drainage is possible if you attach a suitable hose. Keep doors and windows closed while it runs for the best result.
