The KYR-10GW/ACC from Air Conditioning Centre, a UK air-conditioning importer, is a single-unit portable air conditioner with four modes: cooling, heating, dehumidifying and fan. It provides 2.9 kW (10,000 BTU/h) of cooling at a rated input of 1,120 W and 7,500 BTU/h of heating at 950 W, and is intended for rooms of 16 to 24 m². It runs on R290 refrigerant and uses an auto-evaporative system that reduces the need to empty water; in dehumidifier mode it removes up to 42 litres per day. The thermostat is set between 16 and 31 °C from the electronic panel with LED display or with the remote control. It has an easy-access washable mesh filter, swivel castors and a handle, and comes with a 1.5 m exhaust hose, adaptors and a sliding window bar. It measures 355 x 341 x 698 mm and weighs 25 kg.
When choosing a portable air conditioner, compare the cooling capacity with the size of the room, the noise level, the energy efficiency, the dehumidifying and fan functions and the type of exhaust hose. It needs a window or opening for the hot-air hose with a suitable sealing kit, a nearby socket used without extension leads and free space around the grilles; condensed water is handled as the manual describes (evaporation, tank or continuous drainage).
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
