The Makita DRC300Z is a professional robotic vacuum designed for unattended cleaning of offices, shops and warehouses of 300 to 600 m². It runs on two 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries with a brushless motor and is sold as a body only, without batteries or charger. It combines LiDAR with a vision camera to recognise the shape of each room, stores maps of up to 10,000 m² and returns to its starting point when finished. It detects obstacles with an ultrasonic sensor and a bumper, and the cleaning area can be limited or the start scheduled with a timer for night-time work. Dirt goes into a 3.0 L tank with a washable filter, it runs for up to 240 minutes on two 6.0 Ah batteries and it is controlled by app or remote control. Battery protection guards against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.
When choosing a robot vacuum, compare the navigation and mapping system, the suction power, the battery runtime against the size of the home, the type of brushes (rubber brushes tangle less with hair) and, if it mops, how the mop is wetted and cleaned. The charging dock needs a socket and free space at the sides and in front; self-emptying docks use bags or bins that need emptying or replacing, and mop-washing docks have clean and dirty water tanks that are refilled and emptied by hand.
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
