A cylindrical purifier from the Philips PureProtect Quiet 2200 series for rooms of up to 109 m2. The FY2200/30 filter combines pre-filter, NanoProtect HEPA and active carbon with a recommended change every three years, and the manufacturer states a clean air delivery rate of 420 m3/h and 99.97 % retention of particles down to 0.003 microns. The PM2.5 sensor drives a colour ring and a numeric reading; there are five speeds, an automatic mode, a Sleep mode, automatic display dimming, a child lock and control from the Air+ app or by voice with Alexa and Google Home. It measures 280 x 280 x 486 mm, weighs 4.1 kg and draws at most 28 W.
When choosing an air purifier it is worth comparing the clean air delivery rate (CADR) and the room size the manufacturer declares for it, the filtration stages and the cost and frequency of replacement filters, the noise level in the quietest and in the maximum mode, and the power draw in continuous operation. To deliver the stated figures the unit needs free space around the air inlet and outlet grilles, a position out of the way and a 220-240 V socket; filters are replaced on the schedule given in the manual and are not washed unless the manufacturer allows it.
The data shown is taken from the documentation published by the manufacturer; where they differ, the official product sheet prevails. The appliance is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (RDL 1/2007).
