The Sans Air Purifier Mini is the compact version of the purifier from the US brand Sans, about 36 cm tall, for bedrooms, home offices and living rooms of up to 46 m². Air passes through a HEPA filter that retains 99.97% of particles of 0.3 microns, an activated carbon layer of about one pound that absorbs odours, gases and chemicals, and an internal UV-C lamp; the brand states CARB certification that it produces no ozone. On top sits the touch panel with the SmartPure display, which shows the reading from the laser air quality sensor, and auto mode adjusts the speed by itself. It runs at 25 dB at its lowest setting and has a mode in which all lights and indicators switch off. It is light and easy to move between rooms. 3-year legal guarantee (RDL 1/2007).
When choosing an air purifier, compare the clean air delivery rate (CADR) with the size of the room, the type of filters and how much and how often they cost to replace, the noise level at the speed you will use at night and, if fitted, the air-quality sensor with an auto mode. Place it on the floor or on stable furniture with free space around the air inlets and outlets, and replace the filters as the manufacturer or the unit itself indicates.
