The Shark PowerDetect Self-Empty (AV2820VEUKWH) is a white robot vacuum that empties itself into a bagless base holding around 60 days of dust and debris. It combines three sensing functions: DirtDetect raises suction where it finds more dirt, FloorDetect adapts the brushroll to the floor type and EdgeDetect uses blasts of air at edges and corners. The robot can lift and lower itself to cross thresholds and rugs without getting stuck, and a 3D sensor picks out high and low objects so it can steer around them. 360° LiDAR navigation maps the home by day or night. The base has an anti-odour cartridge and an anti-allergen seal. The box contains the robot, the base, the cartridge and two side brushes; Shark gives a 2-year guarantee on registration in the UK and Ireland.
When choosing a robot vacuum, compare the navigation and mapping system, the suction power, the battery runtime against the size of the home, the type of brushes (rubber brushes tangle less with hair) and, if it mops, how the mop is wetted and cleaned. The charging dock needs a socket and free space at the sides and in front; self-emptying docks use bags or bins that need emptying or replacing, and mop-washing docks have clean and dirty water tanks that are refilled and emptied by hand.
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
