The Wood’s AC Cortina 12K is a single-unit portable air conditioner from the Swedish brand Wood’s, intended for bedrooms, living rooms and offices of up to 35 m². It provides 12,000 BTU (3.5 kW) of cooling at 1,350 W input, an airflow of 420 m³/h and three fan speeds; at the lowest speed the maker quotes 49.2 dB. It is rated energy class A, uses R290 refrigerant and works at ambient temperatures up to 43 °C. It can also draw moisture from the room, up to 33.6 litres per day. Control is through the digital touch panel on top or the remote control, and the unit has a timer, a washable filter, castors for moving it and a window kit with a 1.5 m exhaust hose. It measures 850 x 471 x 355 mm and weighs 31.3 kg.
When choosing a portable air conditioner, compare the cooling capacity with the size of the room, the noise level, the energy efficiency, the dehumidifying and fan functions and the type of exhaust hose. It needs a window or opening for the hot-air hose with a suitable sealing kit, a nearby socket used without extension leads and free space around the grilles; condensed water is handled as the manual describes (evaporation, tank or continuous drainage).
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
