The Kärcher RCV 3 (article 1.269-621.0, UK version) is a robot vacuum cleaner with a wiping function that finds its way around the home using a class 1 laser radar. It is operated over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi from the manufacturer’s app. For vacuuming it uses a 500 ml dust container, and for mopping it is swapped for the 2-in-1 container, which combines 300 ml for dry dirt with 170 ml of water to moisten the wiping pad. It runs on a 3200 mAh lithium-ion battery that, according to the manual, gives about 120 minutes in normal mode, and it returns to its compact charging station to recharge. The robot measures 35 x 35 x 9.4 cm and weighs 3.7 kg, so it fits under many pieces of furniture. Nominal power is 33 W. It comes with a charging base; there is no self-emptying station.
When choosing a robot vacuum, compare the navigation and mapping system, the suction power, the battery runtime against the size of the home, the type of brushes (rubber brushes tangle less with hair) and, if it mops, how the mop is wetted and cleaned. The charging dock needs a socket and free space at the sides and in front; self-emptying docks use bags or bins that need emptying or replacing, and mop-washing docks have clean and dirty water tanks that are refilled and emptied by hand.
The data shown comes from the documentation published by the manufacturer; in case of divergence the official datasheet prevails. The product is covered by the three-year legal guarantee of conformity (Spanish RDL 1/2007).
