The Meaco MeacoCool MC Series Pro 8000 CH (MC8000CHRPRO) is a single-unit portable air conditioner with cooling, heating, dehumidifying and fan functions. It provides 8,000 BTU/h of cooling at 1,005 W and 8,100 BTU/h of heating at 940 W, and the manufacturer recommends it for rooms of 16 to 26 m². It uses R290 refrigerant, is rated energy class A, moves up to 310 m³/h of air and removes 1.2 litres of moisture per hour. It can be controlled with the remote, through the Meaco app over Wi-Fi or by voice, and it has a sleep mode that lowers the fan speed and dims the display, a child lock and an on/off timer from 1 to 24 hours. It comes with two window kits, one standard and one flexible, plus a 1.8 m exhaust duct. It measures 341 x 335 x 701 mm, weighs 23.5 kg and sits on castors.
When choosing a portable air conditioner, compare the cooling capacity with the size of the room, the noise level, the energy efficiency, the dehumidifying and fan functions and the type of exhaust hose. It needs a window or opening for the hot-air hose with a suitable sealing kit, a nearby socket used without extension leads and free space around the grilles; condensed water is handled as the manual describes (evaporation, tank or continuous drainage).
